Paying for German research via PAYPAL ???

madgalb
I am about to hire a researcher in Germany to do some research in the kath. archives of Wurzburg.  I heard you can remit payment in euros via your PAYPAL account, but I can't find much information about that.  Supposedly it goes right into their bank account via an authorization number sent by email.  Has anyone had experience with this???  Need help here.  TUIA.  Madeline

Hi
I've done a lot of PayPal transactions - you are correct.
When you sent up a PayPal account, you specify the bank routing and savings/checking account number you want that PP account linked to - just like you'd do for auto bill pay.

https://www.paypal.com/us/selfhelp/article/what-are-the-fees-for-paypal-accounts-faq690

There is a charge to send internationally. To Germany,
If the recipient has a PayPal account the charge is 2%
If sending directly to a bank account the charge depends upon the amount being sent.

Hope this helps!

Hi to you too -

I just found your 7/05 reply while checking for something else.  I expected I would be notified if there was a response, but I wasn't, and want to apologize for the delay in thanking you for your info and assurance that I can easily remit via PP.  You're a love ... thanks again.  Madeline
