Newsday obituary access

LIgenie
Newsday.com has "recent" obituaries.
But does anyone know where to get free access to the very old Newsday obituaries?

Call your local library and see if they have access to Newsday's historical archive. If they do, a librarian should be able to do a look-up for you.

That's a great question — Newsday's website mostly offers access to recent obituaries, and older ones can be trickier to find. One free resource to try is your **local public library** (especially in Long Island or NYC), as many provide remote access to historical newspaper archives. You can also check the **New York State Historic Newspapers** project or **Library of Congress's Chronicling America**, though coverage may vary. If you're affiliated with a university, their library might offer database access too.
