How to tell if it is your ancestor when you view German records

C Beitz Feldmann
I am researching an ancestor who used the name Wilhelm Beitz after arriving in the US in 1873.  His wife was Sophia Bestier Beitz.  They were married in 1858 according to what I have learned.  So I found a record on FamilySearch that has the name "Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Beetz" marriage to "Sophie Henriette Friederike Bestier."  The Birth years are the same for each as I know them (from cemetery records).  But the event (marriage) year is 1863.  From immigration records I believe the family came from Alt Zarnitz, Pommern and the record I have located is from Anklam, Pommern.  Those two locations are pretty close together.

My question is two fold:  Can these two different names represent the same people?  and, what is the difference in the date of marriage?  It looks to me, the little I understand German, that I am looking at an entry in a church record.

I also have found one that is the same type of longer name and not quite the same date for Sophia's father and mother's marriage.
