Hello,
Does anyone have the book "Hessian Emigrants to America" to do a look up for me? I found the original passenger list image of my husband's ancestor, Johann Adam Abe, from Bremen (Empfershausen) to Baltimore in 1836. Adam arrived with his wife and 4 children. However, on Ancestry, there is a record that comes up that states Johann Adam Abe arrived in 1836 with is wife and 10 children. Below is the Ancestry record. I'm wondering if it was transcribed incorrectly and if there is an original record to view.
Name Johann Adam Abe
Arrival Year 1836
Arrival Place America
Primary Immigrant Abe, Johann Adam
Family Members Wife & 10 children
Source Publication Code 2829.1
Annotation Place and date of emigration. All from counties of the province Nether-Hesse, northeastern part of the former territory of Hesse-Cassel.
Source Bibliography GUENTHER, KURT. "Hessian Emigrants to America." In Germanic Genealogist (GG) and/or The Augustan Society Omnibus (ASO). GG: No. 19 (1979), pp. 69-76, Part 4: 1835 and Part 5: 1836.
I would appreciate any help with confirming this information from "Hessian Emigrants to America". Thank you.
