Emigration from Hamburg

My grandfather (Wilhelm Schmidt) emigrated from Hamburg, Germany on the "Deutschland" on approximately September 4, 1906 for the Port of New York. He was (presumably) a cabin boy on board and jumped ship in the Port of New York. He is not on the ship's manifest in New York, but is there a possible record in Hamburg.
